So...I'm back, less stressed and excited for the summer. Here is the down and dirty version of where I've been, a picture post to come this weekend to accompany this post.
Every weekend since January, hubs and I have had
a million something going on. We've either been visiting friends, family or both and doing homework. Long and short- I've been just plain busy (but loving seeing our friends and family). We've been socializing a lot. We made friends with our neighbors who are super awesome and hung out a few times in the past month. They've had us over once for a
happy hour few hours of drinking and appetizering (?) and then another time for a game night with another couple friend of theirs. We've also gone to a wine tour with our good friends Chip and Kristin and met some of their friends who were also so much fun. The winery was so cute and we always love hanging with K&C. We also spent a great day date downtown enjoying the sunshine with an outdoor brunch and then the aquarium and a stroll through the harbor. This spontaneous day date was brought on by the news that I WAS ACCEPTED FOR A NEW POSITION IN MY COMPANY!!! I applied for an employee relations role a few years ago and one became available once again. My good friend from work also got the position and we start Monday! The transition has been a little stressful since we are both currently in the same department and in positions where assist a large population, which always makes a transition touchy.
We've also been doing a little hometown exploring! We've discovered two new awesome parks! One has a lake, running/walking trail and plenty of awesome scenery! Who knew this little gem was right around the corner? The other has a bball court for the hubs and a running trail for me. We also found out that the gas station outside of our neighborhood was on Diners Drive-ins and Dives. (we
are obsessed like Food Network a lot) Let me just tell you- this little Mexican food joint is AMAZING. The food is out of this world, and who would have known if it wasn't for that show! Lucky us- it's within walking distance.
I cannot stress enough how excited am I that today has come!!! Tomorrow is my last day in my current role and the transition will be over! I am nostalgic about leaving my current position, but
bursting at the seams SO excited for the new opportunity!! I also completed my last semester of grad school this week!!!! Taking a full time course load, working a full time job, transitioning to a new job and owning a home all in six months was killer. (Well the last 5 weeks were killer).
All I can say is... I am so ready to relax, celebrate and enjoy time with my hubs this coming weekend. Not to mention... we leave for VEGAS in less than a month!!!
Mid May- you are my new best friend and I am welcoming you with open arms.
Pictures to come ASAP!
Cheers! (X 100000000)
