A birth story: Colin Bennett Robinson

We welcomed Colin Bennett into our world on May 29th at 6:11pm weighing 7lbs 6 oz and measuring 20 inches long. He was the most beautiful sight either of us had ever seen. We find it amazing that Colin was born at 6:11 being as our wedding date is 6/11/11...pretty special if you ask us!

This post is going to be long and full of details. I don't want to forget any bit of this beautiful day- the best day of my life. Please feel free to read the entire thing, or skip around if things get too detailed.

The last time we talked pregnancy, I left you with my 38 week bumpdate. We had begun feeling pressure and mild contractions. Our parents decided to visit all weekend anticipating "the big event". We walked, played games and waited (not so patiently) for Colin's arrival. Well... Sunday came and went and we still had no imminent signs that our sweet baby boy was ready to make his debut. My contractions were inconsistent and not getting any stronger. I had "lost my plug" but that is about it!

Monday was memorial day so our parents decided to head back home. Hubs and I spent the day relaxing and soaking up all the "alone time" we might have for quite some time.
Here is my 39 week bumpdate picture from that day:
Holy Cow I am HUGE!
Tuesday I decided to head back into work. I didn't want to waste anymore time or start my maternity leave since I didn't know how much longer it would be before Colin was ready to meet us. I figured, if I can go in and work, I might as well.

It was a normal day at work...I was still contracting irregularly and I was pretty uncomfortable and crabby but I made it through.  That night hubs and I made dinner and spent time together after having company all weekend. We finally decided to head to bed around 10:30pm. At midnight I woke up feeling the urge to pee (pretty standard for the end of pregnancy) ;). I stood up out of bed and my water broke!! I could not believe it- it was finally here!!!! I woke up Hubs and said "my water just broke!". He seemed shocked and unconvinced. He said 'how do you know?'. I looked at him and said, I know my pants are soaked! Poor guy, I then proceeded to take off my pants and give them to him.

I felt great and wasn't having contractions any worse than I had been having all weekend, however, we called the midwife on call and she told us to come in within three hours. We called my parents, got our last minute things together and I signed onto my work email to forward any items that would need to be taken care of during my maternity leave to my boss. During that time, I started having more severe contractions and Hubs helped me breath through them and rubbed my back. I also took a shower to see if the heat would help ease up some of the "pain". I say pain in quotes here because let me just say for the record- what I was feeling at this point was peanuts compared to the contractions that were on their way. As I was contracting and things were progressing, Hubs started to get anxious and wanted to head to the hospital. We were trying to hold off until my parents got there so we could all go over together. Luckily right as were were about to throw in the towel and head over, they arrived!  At 3:30am we loaded up my parents car and were on our way.

Per the instructions of my midwife, we went in through the emergency room. I was pre-registered with the hospital so they located my paperwork and informed L&D that we were on our way! We were checked in by the midwife on call relatively quickly and we were taken to our room to settle in.
Last "baby bump" picture taken

When the midwife who would be delivering our son, Genine, arrived for her shift about an hour after we checked in, she checked my cervix and determined that I was 100% effaced and 1cm dilated. My words exactly were "ONLY ONE CENTIMETER!??".  I had been once centimeter for well over two weeks, I was feeling the contractions and my water had broken, how could I not have made progress!?! Genine seemed delighted that I was 100% effaced, she said that is the hard part- "dilation is easy".

I immediately got myself up out of that bed and walked the hallways with my mom while my hubs and Dad got some rest gearing up for the rest of the day. Just like the weekend before... we walked and walked and walked some more. Mom was a GREAT support person. She told me stories of her delivery with Andrew and I, encouraged me as I contracted and kept me somewhat distracted.

My contractions definitely started to pick up. Eventually I asked to sit on the birthing ball and get into the shower to see if I could get some relief for a few minutes. I was able to stay in the shower for a good 30 minutes until it was time to check my BP and monitor baby. The shower made my contractions pick up immensely and I was having a hard time talking through each contraction. My parents and hubs were there for support and were taking turns rubbing my back and walking me through each of my contractions. My best friend, Julie, arrived about this time as well. We were talking and laughing in between contractions but when they hit- there was no mercy.

Mom coaching me through a contraction and rubbing my back

My nurse, Aimee, was unbelievable. She was so encouraging and attentive and continued to check on me regularly and answered all of my 101 questions. She knew I hoped to have natural childbirth and not get an epidural and kept supporting me in my decision.

I labored for another hour and a half but was exhausted and unable to get any rest.

The midwife came back in to check my cervix and confirmed I had made it to five centimeters! I asked if they could give me an approximation for how many more hours I'd be in labor and she said "it could be one hour or it could be six... there is no way to tell". I attempted to labor through for a little while longer. I REALLY wanted to go au natural, however, I was in so much pain and completely exhausted. I had only slept for about an hour in the past 30 hours as I had woken up at 6am the day before to go to work and only got to sleep for an hour before my water broke the night before.

At noon, I opted for the epidural. I needed to rest and regain some strength for the remainder of my labor/pushing. Aimee explained that they needed to give me an IV with one bag of fluids before they could get me the epidural but they got everything started right away then paged the anesthesiologist. When the anesthesiologist finally arrived (which was relatively quickly but seemed like forever), they asked my hubs to leave and I was NOT happy about this. Hospital policy states that the spouse has to leave as they often pass out and have a difficult time seeing their significant other in an uncomfortable situation- basically there is more risk then benefit to having them present. I asked if my Mom could stay being as she is a nurse practitioner and I wanted someone to be with me to help with my nerves and breathing through contractions. He agreed and was so nice about it! He talked me through everything that he was doing and to be honest- the epidural didn't hurt AT ALL. Compared to the pain of contractions- epidurals are a piece of cake. Within about 20 minutes the epidural kicked in, my family returned to the room and we talked for about 30 minutes before hubs and I decided to try and get some rest. We rested for a good 1-2 hours, held hands, spent quality time together and got ready for the main event!

Yay for epidurals!

Aimee came back in to check on me around 3 pm and I was feeling the urge to push. She called my midwife back in to check my cervix and sure enough- Colin's head was right there! She said "oh my...he has a ton of hair!". She was certainly right! She told me we can begin pushing with Aimee and she would come back in as things progressed. I texted my Mom (who was resting in the waiting room) and informed her it was time to start pushing. She came back into the delivery room and was holding my left leg while Hubs held my right and we started pushing whenever I felt a contraction.
Mom waiting by my left leg for another contraction while hubs snapped a quick picture
As the contractions got closer together, Aimee decided it was time to call in my midwife. All four of my "coaches"- Hubs, Mom, Aimee and Genine were amazing. They were so encouraging through each and every push. I was able to watch my pushing on a mirror and I could see baby's head coming out and then going back in... this lasted for TWO HOURS!!! I was beginning to lose hope that my pushes were working! I kept getting reassurance from my "team" that I was doing a great job and that once his head was past the pelvic bone, I would only have 1-2 pushes and I'd be holding my sweet baby in my arms.

Throughout the entire transition phase of labor (pushing), I was roasting. I felt like the room was set at 120 degrees when in actuality they cranked the ac down to 55 for me! Everyone else had frost bite and I was asking for more ice chips to dump on my chest. At one point I asked my mom and hubs to fan me with clip boards between contractions so that I could cool down. Towards the end of my labor, I started to "pass out" between contractions from pure exhaustion. I remember having mini dreams about our dog and then being woken up saying "push, push, push". My midwife had to pop out to go check on her other patience briefly. Each time she came back in, she'd tell me- your Dad is out in the hallway asking if everything is ok. He seems so concerned! The first time she went out there she came back in and said "there is a guy with a goatee in the hallway asking if you are alright?" I said "thats my Daddy, please tell him I'm doing fine and his grandson will be here soon".

Once Colin's head finally came through after more than 3 hours of pushing, Genine told me to reach down and touch him as he made his appearance. There was a huge gush of fluid as his shoulders came through and I remember thinking "holy cow, what was that!!?".  Everyone laughed at my reaction and my Mom gasped and I asked her if everything is ok with the baby and she said "he is beautiful!". Genine told me to reach down and pull my baby out. I was able to reach down and grab him by the shoulders and pull him up onto my chest.

This was the MOST amazing moment of my life.

He made the sweetest little whimpers while the nurses dried him off on my chest and took his first vitals. Our sweet guy had a 9 out of 10 on his apgars! I remember looking at him and saying "happy birthday baby, I love you so much" through streams of tears. I looked at my hubs and said "we did it, he is perfect!". We both could not stop smiling.

I was able to hold him and try to breastfeed for 90 minutes before he had to go to the nursery. Hubs and I were in complete awe.

My mom saw him for a few minutes and then took off to the waiting room to inform the 'troops' that everyone was healthy and happy. In the waiting room we had my Dad, my brother, my BFF, Hubs's Mom, brother, sister and three nieces. We took over the place! Everyone was awaiting Colin's sweet arrival. Once we had some time to ourselves,  Colin got weighed, measured, his foot prints taken and wrapped up in his sweet little blanket.

While this was happening, we called everyone back to meet him. We didn't get many pictures because everyone was talking, hugging, crying, etc. It was such a beautiful time.

My sweet brother heard I was starving and ran (with lightning speed) down to the cafeteria to get me a sandwich and salad. He was so sweet! I remember eating after almost 24 hours and thinking "oh my god, this is the best thing I've ever eaten!". :)

Once everyone had a chance to hold him, it was time for Colin to go to the nursery for his first bath and for me to get cleaned up and transferred to the maternal/child unit where we'd wait for our sweet guy.

We were only separated for an hour, but it felt like an eternity! I wanted to hold my baby again!
Once he met us in our room, we held him, kissed him and spent time as a family of three.

We were too excited to get much sleep that night, but we each tried to sleep a few hours in between staring at our sweet little boy.

The next day, we had some visitors come and surprise us. We were visited by my parents, hubs's mom and my friends Kelly, Kelly and Mrs. Guilday. Kelly and Kelly grew up on the same street as me. We've been friends for a lifetime and they were so excited to meet sweet Colin. Kelly G. flew in all the way from California and surprised me!!! Here are a few pictures from Colin's first day...

The third and final day in the hospital was a long one. We were ready to be home and get comfortable in our home but Colin had to wait for the OB to have some time to do his circumcision. We were finally cleared to leave around 3pm on Friday the 31st. We packed up our things and hit the road.

All ready to head home!

Once we arrived at home, we realized our house looked like a hotel! My parents had spent the past two days completely cleaning the house, putting flowers in our bathroom, turning down our sheets and making our home the most comfortable it has ever been. We felt so loved.

I hope you enjoyed reading all about Colin's birth story. I am going to ask our parents and my Hubs to write brief recaps of the week as well and share those on the blog sometime this summer. I think it's fun to read how others remember the day and it will be fun to share these stories with Colin some day.

There is one thing that is for certain... carrying this sweet boy and brining him into the world has been the most beautiful experience. I would not change a single thing about my pregnancy and Colin's birthday. I will never forget this sweet time in our lives. On that note... I'm going to go snuggle my baby. ;)

Cheers!

Post Preggo Health

Wow- two posts in one day! I'm on a roll (or baby Colin is extra sleepy). Now that we are almost five weeks post partum, I am thinking a lot about my personal health. It's time to get this body back on track and get these last ten pregnancy pounds off so that I can be the best me, wife and mommy possible. I am the best me possible when I feel good about myself and take some time out for me every day.

I made a challenge with my Mom- we have to work out at least three days per week and lose ten pounds by our beach vacation (the last full week in August). I think we can do it!

Below are the health goals I set for myself for the next few months:

-Use My Fitness Pal daily to track caloric intake. I looked up my calorie needs while breastfeeding (which are more than they would be if I wasn't) and I'm going to stick to that amount in an effort to safely lose 1-2 pounds per week without jeopardizing my milk supply.

-Run 2-3 days per week. Colin loves the stroller! On nice days when it's not too hot- we will hit the pavement!

- Lift or do Tracy Anderson post pregnancy DVD 1-2 days per week (good to do while Colin is napping!)

- Complete the 30 day squat challenge starting today! My booty definitely took a beating during the pregnancy- not as perky as before- this should get it back to hot mama status!

- Drink 8 full glasses of water daily (if not more). I was so good about water while preggo. For some reason I have been having to remind myself to drink up now- probably because my hands are preoccupied with captain cutie all day! Proper hydration is always important, but even more so when you are establishing and maintaining a milk supply.

- Take a prenatal vitamin, pro-biotic and calcium supplement daily. Prenatal vitamins are recommended while breast feeding, a probiotic is good for digestion and I am not eating dairy so I need the calcium supplement to ensure I am getting enough.

Here's to a happy healthy Mommy in no time! :)

To hold myself accountable, I am going to post updates including pictures over the next two months. Below is a  picture of me at two and a half weeks postpartum. My belly has gone down a lot and I no longer look pregnant but I weigh the same.

Below is where I stand today, ten pounds above my pre-pregnancy weight. I still want to lose an additional 15 pounds on top of the 10 I need to lose to get back to what I was 11 months ago.

Looking forward to a healthier version of me!

38 week bumpdate

How far along? Today we are 38 and 6 days along. Tomorrow we are one week away from our due date!
Baby Size: Baby Colin is the size of a watermelon- and I sure feel that way!
Total weight gain: 26 pounds
Maternity clothes? Now that my belly has really dropped, I am surprisingly able to fit into more pre-preggo clothes. I've been living in yoga pants and long and lean tank tops from target. At work, I'm surviving in dresses.
Stretch marks? Still have those red squiggly lines on my hip but I am confident they will fade
Sleep: Ha! Sleep is for the week. I am sleeping off an on. On Thursday we started getting contractions that have been making sleep interesting.
Best moment this week: Getting the news that our baby could arrive any day!!! My parents came down on Thursday when we started contracting. It's been so nice having them here with us. My mother in law came down yesterday and as well. Even if our little guy doesn't come this weekend (which I hope he does!), it's been nice spending the weekend as a family and getting in some last minute quality time pre-baby Colin. :)
Miss Anything? I am not at the point where I miss NOT being pregnant. I LOVED this experience and I LOVE growing our little miracle but I am ready to be able to do things normally again.
Movement: He loves kicking mommy's ribs this week.
Food cravings: Nothing in particular. The past few days I've been pretty sick to my stomach, which I hear is totally normal.
Anything making you queasy or sick: See above.
Gender: Sweet baby BOY!!
Labor Signs: I actually went into the doctors office Thursday morning to get checked as I wasn't sure if the contractions were "the real deal". We are 50% effaced and starting to dilate (1-2cm). I was having mild contractions every 5-10 minutes. That lasted through the day Saturday. Today, I am having more intense contractions, however, they are not 5-10 minutes apart. They are more like 12-20 minutes apart. Hoping desperately that we get to meet our sweet guy in the next few days!
Symptoms:  I have all the symptoms in the book. Stiff back, sore hips, queasy, contractions.
Belly Button in or out? I'm an outie now! I miss my cute little belly button.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: Overall I'm in a great mood and excited to meet our little man!

Looking forward to: Meeting our son

37 weeks- we have progress!

Due Date:
June 03, 2013

Gender: Sweet baby BOY

Movement: Lots of movement from the little guy. He's been kicking a ton on my right side under my ribs.

Feeling: If I'm being honest, I'm feeling pretty uncomfortable. I'm SO crampy and having lots of mini contractions. The midwife says this is all normal and its all doing it's job because... we have progress! As of Friday's doctor appointment, we were 2 cm dilated and "very thin". :) I am hoping we will get to meet our little guy this week- fingers crossed!

Food Cravings: Not really hungry at all. My appetite is gone and eating is so uncomfortable with little room in the belly. I've been sticking to healthy foods as much as possible and ate a ton of greek yogurt with granola and berries this week.

Food Aversions: Food in general?

Clothes: I'm all over the place with clothes- all maternity bottoms but this week I wore a ton of maxi dresses- all non maternity!

Stretch Marks: ughhhh yes- well I think. I have bruise like red marks on my  hips but I'm confident they will fade.

Sleep: Sleep has gotten better this week!  I wake up to use the bathroom two-three times throughout the night and I'm able to fall back asleep thanks to my mom's genius body pillow idea. :)

Symptoms: cramping, contractions, back aches, heartburn, swollen hands and feet and sappy-ness. I am crying at everything!

What I Miss: I miss being able to move around easily and snuggle with my husband without being uncomfortable.

Best Moment: Hearing that we have made progress and our little guy is on his way here to meet us! I cried when the midwife told me the news. <3

Best week ever and a 36 week bump date

We officially had the best week ever!
To quote a post my Dad made on Facebook:
"What a truly amazing week we have had. It began last Saturday with the marriage of my brother in law, Alex and his wonderful new bride, Malia. A beautiful day for a beautiful couple. We even got a great new niece, Cadence in the bargain. We also learned that my son in law, John's brother, Mike became engaged to the love of his life, Taadie. We couldn't be happier for the two of them. We then celebrated John's graduation from Stevenson University on Thursday (way to go John!), and our wonderful son, Andrew's graduation from Virginia Commonwealth University yesterday. What an accomplishment. We couldn't be more proud. However, the greatest part of all of this is the love that surrounded all of these events, and the happiness of everyone involved.

Which brings me to this day, and the true love of my life, Mary Anne. What an amazing wife, partner, and mother she is. Happy Mother's Day to the best wife in the world. It has been a truly wonderful 40 years together, and it is only going to get better.

I have always known I have been blessed (Thank you Jesus!), but the blessings in my life this week are truly overwhelming with one more blessed event on its way. Our beautiful, daughter Caitlin is about to bless us with our first grandchild any day now, and I can't wait to meet the little guy."

You summed things up perfectly, Dad! Such an amazing week! Last weekend we celebrated my aunt and uncle's wedding and finished our baby moon. We also found out my brother in law and soon to be sister in law got engaged! My parents came into Town on Wednesday and we met Hub's family downtown for a celebratory graduation dinner at Flemmings Steakhouse- so yummy!
Thursday was hub's graduation- SO SO SO proud of him!
Friday Mom and Dad helped out with some things on our "honey do/nesting list" (THANK YOU!) and Mom and I got mani/pedis after work for Mother's day.
Saturday was the little brother's graduation- SO SO SO proud of him! We went out to another family celebratory dinner afterwards.
Sunday was Mother's day and Hubs made a wonderful breakfast while we all relaxed.

We had been waiting for this special week to arrive for a while and were SO happy that we were able to make it to all the celebrations. I had this week in my mind as the "Colin can't come before this date" week. Now that we have celebrated our butts off, we can safely wait for baby Colin to make his debut!

On Monday May 6th, we were 36 weeks pregnant! Holy cow- so close! Today, we are officially full term. :)
Total weight gain: At my doctors appointment on Friday I had gained about 25 pounds. I am SO swollen in my hands and feet and feel like I gained a whole bunch of water weight in the past few weeks.
How big is the baby? : Baby Colin Bennett is the size of a watermelon- and it shows!
Maternity clothes: Same as the past few weeks...making work what I can, but needing all maternity bottoms and mostly maternity tops. Loving the spring weather and taking advantage of some sun/maxi dresses from last year.
Stretch marks?: ughhhh yes- just the ones on my hips. They don't look like stretch marks though, they look like red bruises  Hoping they fade right after baby arrives- I've been massaging stretch mark cream on them like crazy! Positive outlook- even if they don't fade, they are a sign that I carried this miracle and cared for him for 9 months. <3
Sleep: My mom is officially a genius  She bought me a body pillow on Thursday and ever since- I've been sleeping MUCH better! I still have to wake up due to the frequent "calls of nature" but I am much more comfortable and able to fall back asleep. I also think I am generally just worn out from all this baby making which might make sleep a little easier.
Best moment this week: See above- there were SO many!!! A week of celebrations. It was also nice to hear from the midwife that Colin can safely make his debut at any time!
Movement:  You know it! Baby C is movin' and grovin' all over the place.
Food cravings: nothing too crazy. Ice cream/fro yo is still very appealing ;) I need to get my diet back on track as soon as baby comes- I am so antsy to get back to the gym!
Food aversions: Same as always- picky picky with meat
Labor signs: This is up in the air- having some Braxton hicks and cramping- all which the doc says is completely normal and to be expected. Just a few short weeks to go!
Belly button in or out: outtie
What I miss:  My body to myself. LOL. I LOVE carrying this baby and LOVE being pregnant but I am ready to be able to run, walk, get up, get comfortable an un-swell!
Pregnancy Symptoms: Every one in the book- to be expected at 9 months pregnant. Sleepless nights, pain in pelvis/pressure, frequent bathroom breaks, serious hand and feet swelling, crying at the drop of a hat, anxiousness for baby to come(!!) and just general uncomfortableness. All of this is to be expected and SO worth it!
What I'm looking forward to: Meeting our little man and enjoying the next few weeks with my hubs.

34 week bumpdate- SO very PREGGO!

On Monday April 22nd, we were 34 weeks pregnant. Colin has reached his full birth height and is continuing to pack on the pounds!

Total weight gain: At my doctors appointment on Friday I had gained 22.5 pounds.
How big is the baby? : Baby Colin Bennett is the size of a large cantaloupe
Maternity clothes: Same as the past few weeks...making work what I can, but needing all maternity bottoms and mostly maternity tops.  If there is one thing I am noticing it is that... my belly is HUGE! I am certainly undeniably pregnant.
Stretch marks?: Sadly, I think my answer has changed. I don't have a single one on my belly and I don't think I will. However, I might have one on my hip of all places. Its a red line but it might be from constantly bumping into things- hope so! I've been stretch mark creaming that baby like crazy in hopes that it will disappear after delivery.
Sleep: TERRIBLE!  I am the definition of "sleep is for the weak" this week. I was having the constant urge to pee and pressure through the night, which made it very hard to get comfortable and a good nights rest... little did I know it was from kidney stones. At my appointment on Friday the doctor pointed out that I had a small amount of blood in my culture that was most likely due to a small infection. No big deal she said as it happens a lot to pregnant women when their bladder is completely smashed. They gave me an antibiotic for 7 days and sent me on my way. WELL- this weekend I had some pretty serious cramping, to the point where I was wondering if it was "go time". It would come and go but with several hours in between. By this morning- it was completely GONE and I was feeling great again. The doc called me back to give me the lab results from my culture which were negative for any bacteria. Therefore, based on this weekend's events, and the blood in my culture from Friday, she determined it was kidney stones. LOVELY. She said this is also common in pregnant women and I most likely passed them without a hitch. She did say "if you can pass kidney stones without extreme pain, you'll sail through labor!". Ha! I sure hope so.
Best moment this week: Spending some time with my hubs and soaking in those last few nights as a family of two (three including our fur child) <3 We went out to dinner on Saturday and then went to get some frozen yogurt. It was a really fun night. A couple sitting next to us started chatting us up about our obvious upcoming addition and giving us some words of encouragement.
Movement:  You know it! Baby C is on the move.
Food cravings: Fresh food and frozen yogurt. Loving salads at the moment.
Food aversions: Same as always- picky picky with meat
Labor signs: Thankfully, no!! Still need baby to cook a little bit longer.
Belly button in or out: I think I'm officially an outtie. Hubs keeps touching my belly asking if our turkey is done. :)
What I miss:  Running, running, running and feeling like a normal person. I cried Saturday morning due to a combo of a lack of sleep (from pain the night before), hormones and feeling like a blimp. Overall, my pregnancy has been beautiful and lovely, however, I am ready to have our little guy here.
Pregnancy Symptoms: I am officially waddling and have every pregnancy symptom in the book for this stage of pregnancy. Stiff legs, stiff back, big belly, huge booty.
What I'm looking forward to: our mini baby moon this weekend! <3

33 Weeks

Monday April 15th we were 33 weeks pregnant!

How far along? Today we are 33 weeks 6 days
Baby Size: Baby Colin is the size of a pineapple
Total weight gain: Lets call it 21 or 22 pounds. It varies every day based on water retention- all week it was back and forth between 21 and 22 pounds. Still on track for a healthy weight gain. :)
Maternity clothes? I'm all over the place. I look best in maxi dresses- all non maternity. I wore a maternity dress to work Thursday and based on pictures from  my surprise work baby shower- it was TOO small! Baby bump is getting HUGE!
Stretch marks? Prayers to the stretch mark gods daily- none so far!
Sleep: Still hit or miss. Some nights its great and others not so much. The humidifier and a pillow between my legs definitely help me get comfy.
Best moment this week: My surprise baby shower on Thursday at work. My co-workers did such a great job surprising me. Once again, Baby Colin was spoiled rotten! We got our jogging stroller, our rock n play sleeper and two fifty dollar gift cards- one to each of our registries.
See what I mean about the dress?
Miss Anything? Feeling like a normal person, lol. Vague answer but I'm starting to resent everyone that can stand up, get up, move around with out a struggle. I am also majorly missing running.
Movement: Still movin' and groovin'!
Food cravings: Loving anything refreshing. I think its the springtime weather! Lemonade, water with crushed ice and lemon, salad. I also love my husband's yummy pancakes on the weekends! Eating some as we speak! :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: My husband said it best yesterday- I'm just picky all around. Still don't like meat or seafood but I was able to eat shrimp scampi this week- and ENJOYED IT!
Gender: BOY!!
Labor Signs: Nope. Baby still needs to stay in there and cook for a few more weeks. He needs to pack on the pounds!
Symptoms: Serious lower back stiffness. I've also noticed some more water retention that normal. I'm in the process of chugging water to see if that helps.
Belly Button in or out? Still at a halfie status...practically an outie now! I miss my cute little belly button.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: Overall I'm in a great mood. I'm loving the bond that hubs and I have and enjoying the time we are spending together before Colin's debut. With that said, when my back is killing me, it is hard to not be a bit grouchy. :-/
Looking forward to: Meeting our son!  I'm also really looking forward to our mini baby moon in two weeks!!!

32 week bumpdate- 8 weeks to go!

Monday 4/8/13 we were 32 weeks pregnant- 8 weeks or less until we meet our sweet little man!

Due Date: June 03, 2013

Gender: Sweet baby BOY

Movement: Tons of movement going on - kicking, punching and rolling, hiccuping.

Feeling: Feeling really, really good! Getting very excited to meet our baby, but a little nervous about "the big day".  I have some aches and pains throughout the day- nothing too serious. Colin's toes are definitely hanging out under my ribs which is a little uncomfortable and my back is pretty tired by the end of the day, but that is to be expected as the belly grows (and grows!). I'm also sleeping a little better this week. Overall, I'm feeling great and loving this pregnancy! I will certainly miss being pregnant in a few weeks.

Food Cravings: No true cravings, but I'm still loving fruit and frozen yogurt. I have been craving healthy food this past week- might have something to do with the gorgeous summer weather we've been having! Watermelon, strawberries, yogurt, salad- yes please! I've also been continuing to chug the H2O- can't seem to get enough!

Food Aversions: seafood- still not appealing

Clothes: I'm all over the place with clothes- all maternity bottoms but this week I wore a ton of maxi dresses- all non maternity!

Stretch Marks: None -- Cocoa butter and prayers to the stretch mark Gods that I make it to the end without any!

Sleep: Sleep has gotten better this week!  I wake up to use the bathroom about once or twice throughout the night and my back aches a little, but it's become much more bearable with a pillow between my legs.

Symptoms: Heartburn, shortness of breath when C "kicks" my lungs, frequent potty breaks, minor aches and pains when I first stand up after sitting for a while. Hubs has been wonderful about giving me some massages in the evenings to help out my aches- I'm so lucky to have such a supportive guy <3.

What I Miss: Being comfortable over all. I miss being able to move around easily- get up without grunting/struggling and the weather has me missing my outdoor runs.

Best Moment: This week it was so sweet having hubs look at me and smile, I know he was smiling at the belly and the fact that we are soon going to be parents! He also got to feel Colin's hiccups this week, which was hilarious.
