Colin Bennett: 2 Weeks

On June 12, our little guy was two weeks old!

Time slow down already! What a wonderful two week's we've had. Colin is such a joy and brightens up our world immensely. We are certainly the most proud parents in the universe.

Weight:  At his two week appointment, Colin was back up to his birth weight! He was 7lbs 6.2oz and 21 1/4 inches long. He is in the 50th percentile for both height and weight.

Health: Colin is doing GREAT! I gave up dairy after our emergency room extravaganza last week and it made a wold of difference. The doctor said Colin is doing wonderfully! We don't have to go back to the doctor until his two month checkup the end of July.

Social: We have had a very busy two weeks with visitors. This week Colin was visited by our friends Brittany and Ryan as well as Chip and Kristin and Colin's new friend baby Landon! Landon is 11 weeks older than Colin and we are sure they will be great friends as they grow up. Colin's Granddad also came down over the weekend to see him and of course his Gran has been here for the full two weeks. We are so sad she is leaving today...
On Sunday Colin had his newborn pictures taken- SO adorable.... sneak peak below.
Colin was so good for our photographer and her assistant. We were there for four hours so the little guy was worn out when we got home. Hubs's Mom, Sister, Brother and our soon to be sister in law visited on Sunday evening with our two nieces. They stayed for dinner and got to see the little man. Unfortunately, he was so tired and worn out so he slept most of the time.

Sleep: We have a good little sleeper! He only wakes up 1-2 times per night. If we can get him to nurse later in the evening (10-11p) he will sleep until about 4. If he nurses earlier he'll wake up about 2 and then again around 5-6.

Diet: All Mommy's milk! He's such a good little eater!

Clothes: newborn sizes only- our tiny little guy. We tried 0-3 month Jammies and they were swimming on him!

Baby Gear Love: Still loving the same goodies as last week... Soothie pacifier, snuggabunny bouncy seat and Aden and Anis swaddle wraps. Colin sleeps so well in his rock n' play sleeper next to our bed. We have a feeling we will be using this for a while.

Crying:  Mostly when he's hungry, gassy or has to take a poop. He does NOT like the feeling of going number 2. As soon as he feels the "urge" he gets fussy until he's done and then he gives a sly little smile and falls asleep. I have to admit, its cute.

Likes: Snuggling and being held. He also loves to be sung to and "danced" around by mommy and daddy. He's very social and loves to be around us.

Dislikes: pooping and gas! Poor guy. Gas drops seem to work when he's really gassy.

Postpartum: Feeling pretty good! There is the obvious soreness and typical postpartum symptoms that are starting to fade. Breastfeeding is going really well and I am trying to rest when baby rests. I am ten pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight! I want to lose at least ten additional lbs on top of the last ten pregnancy pounds... No dairy will hopefully help'
