2011 from soup to nuts!

First off, let me just say I have been dying to do a holiday post but my wonderful hubs went on a packing spree and packed my memory card reader! I may do some digging around and unpack it,  but otherwise when the move is over in less than two weeks (!!!!!) I will do a “better late than never” holiday recap to include Thanksgiving, Christmas and NYE!
2011 was amazing, by far. I am a little nostalgic about saying goodbye,  but excited to see what 2012 has in store!  This year, we had so many wonderful experiences. We got married, two of my best friends got married, two of our other best friends had a beautiful baby girl, my parents celebrated 35 years of wedded bliss and we bought our first home!

I don’t necessarily believe in specific “resolutions”, they are difficult to stick to. I do, however, believe in overall goals. For 2012 I want to take a step forward with my career, make my new house a “home”, finish my masters, be more healthy and always grow my love for my husband, family and friends.  I think my 101 list from September will help me do all of the above.

I read an article this weekend that really hit home- I think this will be included in my 2012!

Before moving forward in 2012, I wanted to recap the memorable moments from 2011.
This year went by so fast, probably because we were SO busy! I started out the year planning my wedding, learning my new career, working on my 4th semester of grad school and planning wedding events for two of my best friends.
In February two of our best friends announced they were having a baby! We were so excited for their new addition.
In March my parents celebrated 35 years of wedded bliss
In April we celebrated one of our brides to be, Gina, with her bridal shower. It was so much fun!

We also moved into our two bedroom apartment thinking we would be here for a year or two... little did we know!
In May we celebrated me as a bride to be with a beautiful bridal shower. My bff, Julie, truly did an amazing job with the help of my other bridesmaids. Julie knows me so well and threw me a “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” bridal shower! We had breakfast food and lots of sparkles. They even dressed me up like Mrs. Audrey herself!  It was such an amazing day. I felt on top of the world with love. The same evening we dressed up and hit the town for my bachelorette party. We had a delicious dinner in downtown Philly then went out on the town. The next day I started my pre-marital counseling with my pastor. (Smart, I know.)

The pics above and below are of me with my MOH and BFF Julie.

 Gotta love the ribbon hats!

 Three generations of wonderful women!
In June WE GOT MARRIED!!!! I am working on finishing up the story of our day. You can read about the wedding morning and prep here and our ceremony here. We also went on our fabulous honeymoon to Montego Bay Jamaica.

We celebrated my 26th birthday Jamaica-style while on our honeymoon. Hubs booked us a romantic private candlelight dinner on a gazebo overlooking the Caribbean (MAJOR points there).
When we came back to the states we celebrated one of our next brides to be, Ariel, with a special luncheon at a cute little café in Delaware.
In July, we partied beach style for Gina’s bachelorette and Brittany and Ryan celebrated their one year anniversary.
Yup, the bride wore a blue wig for the event! :)

In August we signed the papers for the construction of our first home and we celebrated the wedding of Gina and John.

We also celebrated the future baby Maddi with a baby shower for Kristin!

Just a few short weeks later in September, we celebrated the wedding of Ariel and Ben.

In October we finally began to rest from the whirlwind of wedding events. In the first week of the month our friends had their beautiful baby girl, Maddi and towards the end we dressed up as Tish and Gomez at a Halloween party with my BFF.

In November, my hubs turned 29 and we had a wonderful Thanksgiving with wonderful family. More to come on that!
And finally December came and we celebrated our first Christmas as husband and wife. More to come on that as well!
I hope 2012 is full of as many wonderful memories as 2011. Wishing you and yours a happy new year!
